Side Effects

In Cardiovascular disease may induce postural hypotension.
Sinus tachycardia, AV/bundle-branch block, dry mouth, weight loss/gain, constipation, urinary hesitancy/retention, impotence, blurring of vision, exacerbation of glaucoma, liver dysfunction, tremors.
Rarely agranulocytosis.


Anxiety depression syndrome, nocturnal enuresis, narcolepsy.

Contra Indications

Heart block, narrow angle glaucoma, severe liver disease, acute recovery period after MI concomitant therapy with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of discontinuing them.


Epilepsy, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, glaucoma, urinary retention, renal or hepatic impairment.
May potentiate actions of CNS depressants like alcohol, barbiturates and transquillisers.
Children, elderly, pregnancy and lactation.
