Side Effects

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, Reversible neutropenia.
Drug rashes.


Respiratory tract infections, ENT, urinary tract, gynaecological and obstetric infections.
Gonorrhoea (when penicillin is unsuitable).
Skin, soft tissue, bone and dental infections.

Contra Indications

Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins.


It is well tolerated by patients allergic to penicillin, but cross-reaction has been encountered rarely.
