Side EffectsHeadache, asthenia.
Nausea, vomiting, flatulence, diarrhoea, constipation,dyspepsia, agitation, decreased libido, anorexia.
Somnolence, dizziness, insomnia, dry mouth, nervousness, tremor, anxiety, hypertonia, depression, CNS stimulation.
Upper respiratory infection.
Abnormal ejaculation, yawn.
Taste preversion, impotence, anorgasmia, urinary frequency, urinary retention.
Obsessive compulsive disorder.
Contra IndicationsCoadministration of terfenadine, astemizole or cisapride with Fluvoxamine is contraindicated.
Patients with history of hypersensitivity to fluvoxamine maleate.
CautionHistory of mania or seizures, liver dysfunction, presence of depressive symptoms, smokers.
Treatment with MAOI should only be started at least 2 week after stopping fluvoxamine treatment.
Increased risk or suicidal ideation and behavior when used in children, adolescents and young adults below 24 years.
Pregnancy, elderly, operating hazardous machinery, withdraw gradually.
Monitor prothrombin time in patients who are taking oral anticoagulants concurrently.
